Teaching
a second language is usually
thought of as something other
than English, but this is
not the case anymore.
Hispanics comprise one of the
largest minority populations in
the United States. For
Hispanic young men and women in
secondary schools, barriers such
as language and income level are
continuing to deliver degrees of
discrimination professionally,
economically, and socially.
The need to learn English is
prevalent in everyday life -
bilingual skills are essential.
Mary Jo Turner is helping bridge this gap by teaching
our Hispanic's the English language in Lenoir City. For
further information on how you can be a part of this, please
