New Cumberland Presbyterian Logo resembles a traditional Celtic cross
long associated with Presbyterian and Reformed denominations. This
design illustrates the people of God becoming the Body of Christ in the
world. Close examinations, however, reveals the cross to be composed of
four persons with their arms interlocked.
illustrates the church as being the Body of Christ and that Cumberland
Presbyterians are a connectional community. Although the people
appear to be closing inward to the circle, the cross as a whole projects
people of God form a great circle. This is a circle of God's love
and grace; like a wedding band, the kind that has no end, one that can
never be broken. The circle also represents the world into which
the church brings God's love and grace.
